SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Future Farmers of America (FFA) members and supporters from across the state of California discovered their infinite potential during the opening session of the 96th State FFA Leadership Conference at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.
The 2023-2024 State Officer team kicked off the conference with a video showcasing their theme for the year, “Infinite.” The team emphasized how experiences in agricultural education can lead to infinite opportunities in and outside of the blue jacket.
The candidates up for selection for the 2024-2025 California FFA State Officer Team were introduced to the audience. Throughout the week, the candidates will take part in interviews before being selected to serve at the final session on Sunday. View the final 17 candidates here.
Special guest Dale Brisby also joined the California FFA delegation for the third consecutive year. As a well-known YouTube and social media comedian and past Texas FFA member, Brisby discussed the value of agricultural education in his own life and how it set him up for success. Following Brisby’s appearance, members and supporters witnessed a performance from the National FFA Talent Winner and Santa Rosa FFA member, Adrian Soto.
Hoan Do, motivational speaker and American Ninja Warrior, was one of the conference’s keynote speakers featured at the session. During his message, he encouraged members to have a honest attitude and focus on how they can respond to a situation rather than react. Members were urged to “change the song” of their life when difficult moments arise and eliminate negative self talk.
“Acknowledge how you feel; don’t ignore how you feel,” Do said. “Whatever you resist will continue to exist.”
The second session of the 96th State FFA Leadership Conference will be held at the Golden 1 Center tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m.
