College & Career Expo at the 98th Annual State FFA Leadership Conference

More than 90 exhibitors representing various sectors of the agriculture industry welcomed attendees to the Ontario Convention Center for the 2026 College & Career Expo. This year's event had something for everyone, featuring booths from industry partners, in- and out-of-state colleges and universities, an agriscience fair, livestock fitting demonstrations, and the FFA Store. The Expo is designed to connect conference participants with industry and educational leaders, creating valuable opportunities for networking and career exploration.

Courtney Brouwer and Elliott Kramer, sophomores from Galt FFA, took center stage at the 2025 California FFA State Leadership Conference with a powerful piano and violin performance that earned them the top spot in the FFA State Talent Show. The duo performed Zach Bryan’s “I Remember Everything,” blending classical instrumentation with emotional vocals to wow the crowd and judges alike.

Summer Travels with the State Officer Team: Conferences, Fairs, and Expos

Starting in mid-June, the state FFA officer team has had a jam-packed schedule, beginning with traveling to the California Agricultural Teachers’ Association (CATA) conference in San Luis Obispo. There, we had the opportunity to introduce ourselves to ag teachers from all over the state. While in the area, we stopped in Santa Maria to escape the Central Valley heat wave and visit our State Treasurer, Melissa Lua-Duarte’s family.

Beginning in the early 20th century in California, agricultural education has a long tradition of preparing students for rigorous, satisfying careers both within and outside of the industry. As a school-based learning program, agricultural education operates as a unit within the California Department of Education and is written into the state’s legislative education code.
