The 2022-23 State Officers have spent an entire year serving California FFA. Their service has enriched the lives of many members across the state as they served as ambassadors for agricultural education. During the conference, each officer has taken the stage to share their retiring address.
ONTARIO, Calif. — Future Farmers of America (FFA) members and supporters from across the state of California returned to the Toyota Arena for the closing session of the 95th State FFA Leadership Conference in Ontario.
Members that have served on the Executive Committee for the past year were recognized and thanked for their dedication to the organization.
Conference Ambassadors, Courtesy Corps, and Press Corps members were also acknowledged for their assistance and efforts in helping make state conference successful.
FFA State Talent finalists, Zena Scott (Brentwood-Liberty FFA) and Adrian Soto (Santa Rosa FFA), showcased their skills for California FFA members. Members voted on the winner of “FFA’s Got Talent” and the winner will be announced during the closing session tomorrow.

The Distinguished Service Citation is reserved for those few who provide assistance of an outstanding nature to the FFA organization. This year’s awards were presented to UC Farm Smart and Intuitive.
Each year at the State FFA Leadership Conference, four FFA members are honored with State Star Awards for outstanding accomplishments in FFA and agricultural education. This year's winners were:
ONTARIO Calif. — Members and supporters of the California Future Farmers of America (FFA) returned to the Toyota Arena for the fifth session of the 95th State FFA Leadership Conference in Ontario, with the theme of “Redefine Education.”
The following proficiency awards were handed out in alphabetical order from Diversified Agriculture Production to Outdoor Recreation:
Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who, through supervised agricultural experiences, have developed specialized skills that they can apply toward their future careers. Proficiency winners were announced at the 2023 State FFA Leadership Conference sessions throughout the day.

The first set of proficiency awards, from Ag Communications to Dairy Production Placement, were handed out in alphabetical order. The winners are as follows:
Ontario, CA – After recognizing six exceptional California teachers as finalists through the Golden Owl Award, the California FFA Foundation, in partnership with Nationwide and the California Farm Bureau, selected Jason Ferreira, agricultural teacher at Hanford High School, as California’s 2022-2023 “Ag Educator of the Year.”
