Peaches and Pancakes Fundraiser A Sweet Success

The California Agricultural Teachers’ Association (CATA) is dedicated to the service of vocational agriculture, agriculture education, and the FFA members of California. The organization recognizes members who have excelled in such service by inducting them into the CATA Hall of Fame.
Each spring, Gridley FFA members apply to be part of a team that brings hands-on agriculture to surrounding elementary schools. FFA members plan, prepare, and organize the events, which typically include two school sites.
When the El Capitan FFA Chapter was unable to participate in California’s statewide virtual 5K for FFA in February, they came up with a practical solution—they would organize their own.
Thanks to California FFA’s supporters, Big Day of Giving 2022 was a BIG success! During the campaign FFA raised $11,500. Corporate sponsor, Ag Source Magazine and their OUTSKIRTS Marketing Program, stepped in at the end to help FFA reach our fundraising goal of $15,000.

High school students around the state are donning their caps and gowns this month.
Last month, the Almond Board of California’s Leadership Program Class of 2022 hosted its fourth annual golf tournament. The tournament attracted 144 growers, handlers and almond industry leaders to golf and support FFA.
Watsonville FFA recently hosted a fun-filled carnival for the entire community. The evening event featured music, a bounce house, a balloon artist, face painting, traditional carnival games, themed photo backdrops, and classic carnival food. With more than 100 people attending the inaugural event, the chapter hopes to make it an annual tradition. “It was a fantastic night,” said Vivienne Moran, Chapter Reporter.
