Proficiency Award National Finalists
We are proud to recognize 24 National FFA Agriscience Fair Finalists from California FFA. The National FFA Agriscience Fair recognizes student researchers studying the application of agricultural scientific principles and emerging technologies in agricultural enterprises. The agriscience fair is for middle and high school students.
Merced-Golden Valley won the California FFA State Career Development contest in Agricultural Sales. They received four scenarios with potential customers as judges watched how the students interact while discussing their sales strategies. The judges then acted as a sales manager listening to each team member’s sales pitch while asking questions.
The annual Regional Officers Leadership Conference will convene in Buellton from July 25 to July 28. State Officers will share this year's theme, “Embrace the Adventure.” Maico Ortiz, National Officer Candidate, will also take part in the program.
‘Embracing Agriculture' is one of the meeting threads. Regional officers will join more than thirty ag industry professionals for a casual conversation. This session was the highlight of last year's conference for regional officers. Industry experiences in the Santa Maria Valley take place later that day.
